How PicsZako works: event photos found with a selfie

Everyone · 8 October 2026

PicsZako connects the photographer who covered an event with the people who were at it. The photographer uploads once. Each guest takes a selfie and gets only the photos they appear in, pays with M-Pesa, and downloads the full-quality originals straight away.

For guests, in four steps

  1. Open the gallery. Your photographer shares a link or a QR code, at the event, in the programme, or by WhatsApp or SMS. Opening it takes you straight to that event.
  2. Take a selfie. PicsZako compares it with the event's photos and shows you the ones you're in. No scrolling through 600 pictures looking for yourself.
  3. Choose and pay. Pick the photos you want and pay with M-Pesa (a prompt arrives on your phone) or PayPal.
  4. Download. You get the original, full-resolution files with no watermark.

Your selfie is only used for that search and is deleted within 24 hours. More on that in how we handle your selfie.

For photographers, in three steps

  1. Upload the event. Photos upload a few at a time, so a dropped connection costs you one photo, not the whole batch.
  2. Share one link. One link or printed QR code covers the whole event. Guests don't need accounts or codes to remember.
  3. Get paid. Guests pay you directly through the gallery. You keep 75% of every sale, and payouts go to your M-Pesa.

There is no monthly fee. PicsZako takes 25% when a photo sells and nothing when it doesn't. See how photographers make money with PicsZako.

What guests see before they pay

Guests browse watermarked previews at screen resolution. The original file is never sent to a browser until it has been paid for, so the photographer's work is protected and the guest still sees exactly what they're buying.
