Using your face to find your photos is convenient, and it's fair to ask what happens to that selfie afterwards. Here are straight answers.
Your selfie is deleted within 24 hours
Your selfie is used only to match you against the photos of the event you're viewing. It is deleted when the search finishes, and always within 24 hours.
You can only search events you were invited to
You can't search every event on PicsZako with a selfie, and neither can anyone else. A search only works inside a gallery you have the link or code for, so nobody can use a photo of you to find out where you've been.
Private events show guests only their own photos
When a photographer marks an event as private, each guest sees only the photos they're in, not the whole event.
You can opt out
Any guest can opt out of face matching on a gallery in one tap, and their match data is deleted immediately. You can still browse the event normally.
How face matching works
To find faces, PicsZako creates mathematical descriptions of the faces in an event's photos. They are used only for that event, and are deleted when the event is removed. Photographers, and anyone pictured, can ask for an event to be removed.
The full details, including how long each kind of data is kept and your rights under Kenyan law, are in our Privacy Policy.
